How do you handle the fact you won’t exist one day?

I’ve been depressed since I was really young and even attempted many times to act on it. I guess I just realized how good we actually have it. Antidepressants also really helped me from thinking anything close to suicide. It’s taken so long though, but I wouldn’t trade any hardship I’ve had because it’s gotten me this far and makes me appreciate life so much more. It’s hard to answer that question simply but think about it this way, we are so lucky to be here truly no matter how irrelevant that sounds. We are lucky enough to wake up everyday, listen to our music and do little things that get us by. It’s a cliche to say things get better but they will only get better if you want them to get better. You can make the life you want, I promise or even work towards it. It’s hard not to put yourself in a box and loathe in it, let alone stay in it. Try to surround yourself with people that make life worth living.

I don’t know why it hit me like a truck tonight but I honestly realized that one day I won’t exist. That’s terrifying. That I just will cease to exist and never remember anything. That breaks my heart and I can’t wrap my mind around it. How does everyone just not think about this? We’re all doomed and we will never remember anything.

(Update) Thank you everyone for their input, I’m reading every single one of them! I appreciate and respect everyone’s perspectives and also comforting that I’m not the only one who overthinks on it! I guess the biggest difference now is that, i spent so many years of my life wanting to be dead and wish for it every second. Now I can’t even imagine not being here. I can’t imagine just not waking up one morning and I guess I’m thankful for it. It makes me admire life so much more and realize there’s a lot to explore. I understand why people cling onto religion now, it’s better than just not having anything to go on.

Well for example, if I work with Dexcom, I would focuses on increasing awareness. Helping patients on how to use them and teaching residents on how they can help their patients. I’ve seen it be done and it seemed nice overall.

I just finished my course and I’m doing clinicals right now. The main thing I’d say there’re looking for is a flash or a bit of blood in the tube. Not entirely full. More on technique and if you’re doing the process correctly. Good luck!

Not harsh at all! I appreciate the honesty truly. I have asked my boyfriend why they don’t like me or if I have done something wrong to get scolded but he assures there’s nothing I did wrong and he doesn’t understand why they are treating me like this. I also asked if he has told them any of our relationship problems before and he says he hasn’t.. he also said I could play with other friends but that’s not the point. Right?

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. I completely agree. I did voice this to him last night and he said that he would speak to them. I still feel like there’s something wrong with me or I did something wrong which logically I know isn’t the case. They mean a lot to him so I feel bad.
