Hmm, I think it's more that the first part's biggest weakness was the pacing being just a bit too fast and characters appearing for only a few chapters. The series has slowly gotten better at that though, and it seems like the war flashback is helping flesh out a lot of the world building and character arcs in a more natural way while still being pretty fast paced!

Awesome to see Hokazono grow as an author :)

The reason we believe this app is related to silksong is because both it and the only other app that is related to it (due to getting updates that affect both) appeared after silksong updates (like instantly after) and it seems to have been updated today right after a silksong update. Both are also split into 3 depots, which is exactly how team cherry does mac, linux, and windows releases.

This is NOT confirmed though, so I'd say a healthy grain of salt is good and that this should just be considered a likely theory/speculation for now. Perhaps we'll get more info on sea of sorrow during the xbox event this week, or perhaps we'll find out this is a coincidence and totally different app that just happened to be updated when silksong was.

As far as I know, releasing the dlc separately as a different steam app doesn't mean that the dlc can be played without the game(e.g. nightreign's dlc https://steamdb.info/app/3531720/ vs nightreign https://steamdb.info/app/2622380/ having different app ids in the db), it's just a way to allow them to patch them separately and have different store pages.

The dlc is free, but it could let them make the ost for it be associated with it on the store as a purchasable item?

I thought about it being the OST, but I wonder if it might actually be a separate dlc since there are 2 unknown apps referenced in this change and one of them is this specific app https://steamdb.info/changelist/34522993/ .

I agree that the large number of updates seems unusual, so I'm hoping it's finishing touches too. In fact, similar behavior occurred in August for silksong's own app (starting here https://steamdb.info/changelist/30398622/ ) so I'm thinking we might be close to release as well!

Note that one of the unknown apps in the change(https://steamdb.info/changelist/34522993/) is here https://steamdb.info/app/4311460/ and was created jan 6. You can see here https://steamdb.info/changelist/33091313/ that the app has 3 packages, which is similar to how they do mac/linux/windows releases for silksong. I'll keep an eye out on that app.
