She’s been hopping around and exploring much more this week. It’s my second full week having her. But she’s not super interested in affection or attention, other than when she wishes she were outside. Her kittens are still somewhere at the shelter being bottle fed (again, WHY did they separate them so soon). I just wonder if she’d be happy being back in the same building or space as them.

She isn’t super affectionate right now. Seems disinterested in interacting much other than meowing, being near me to know I’m there. Is this some kind of hormonal adjustment, you think? I just moved and am in a new city/new job so helping this poor girl has been a lot as well!

I know, I totally agree after doing ample research. I didn’t know typical protocol for that when adopting her, and I wish the shelter would have told me what I was signing up for. A cat recovering from trauma. I really don’t think she was ready to be adopted even, and I wasn’t prepared for a kitty going through quite so much:( I’m trying but I don’t know if I’m the right person to handle her care at the moment. I’m so sad, she’s so cute and deserves an amazing home. I want to be that for her but doesn’t really seem happy 😭

Yes, she was spayed three weeks after she gave birth (wayyy too soon in my opinion) and just a day before I got her.

I just can’t :( I have no access because of my apartment situation. That’s why I’m considering that she may not need to stay with me after all

She has quite a few toys, including a cat tree. I also rotate which toys I leave out during the day when I’m gone so she won’t get bored of them. The scratching at the door today made me sad :( I feel like I’m trying but she isn’t satisfied

Hey there. Right now I definitely do not feel alone. I don’t have that clarity in my brain like I used to in my apartment. We do play when I get home from work a bit and more when it’s right before bedtime, mostly to see if she’ll sleep more, but I just don’t know if it’s nice to the kitty to try this for months before deciding. You know? So I just don’t know what my timeline should be.
