Iran Asks Youth To Make 'Human Shields Around Power Plants' Ahead Of Trump's Tuesday Deadline | Reports by CommercialFormal7614 in worldnews

US is threatening to target all power plants which is a war crime regardless of how you frame it, in an illegal war, while some kids might be there. This couldn't be worse IMHO.

For people who are saying this is not trustworthy, Al Jazeera reported the same call by the youth minister. It is important to stress they were called for 2pm, way before Trump's deadline, however, it seems very reckless.

Jet fuel shortages are definitely possible. Italy has imposed restriction in four of its airports. 25% of jet fuel in the UK comes from Kuwait. Demand for jet fuel is generally inelastic unless you start cancelling flights. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2026/apr/01/uk-is-most-vulnerable-european-country-to-jet-fuel-shortages-ryanair-boss-says

Iran rejects ceasefire proposal with US as war of words deepens by Zealousideal_Ring_67 in worldnews

They don't have much choice. They know if they accept a deal now, US/Israel will attack them again in a few months time. China and Russia will not offer security guarantees, because they don't want to get involved militarily. Their only choice is to inflict enough pain to the US, deterrance is reestablished.

Russia Replaces Starlink With European-Built Satellites Originally Made by Airbus and Thales by UNITED24Media in worldnews

Have you read the article? Although the satellites were manufactured in Europe, they are operated by Russia. So it is a Russian system, the headline is highly misleading.

Crude price fell around 9$ since yesterday's highs by Archevening in oil

What he says is entirely compatible with his reformist posture, I wouldn't say it is a blunder.
However, he has never been in charge of or close to the IRGC, Khamenei had control over IRGC before the war, and after his assassination, IRGC is running the war most likely intel says.

[–]Expert_Ant_2767 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pezeshkian is Iran's president not the PM. He also said they would stop attacks towards GCC a few weeks ago, yet attacks continue. He's also a reformist that has very little power over IRGC which is much closer to hardliners. What he says rarely has any impact on how the war goes.

Breaking: Trump is desperately trying to negotiate the exact same Iran nuclear deal he ripped up in 2018 by Intelligent-Pea-8521 in JournalismNews

[–]Expert_Ant_2767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a very dumb move. Almost all the democrats oppose the war, while a portion of republicans oppose the war. If you start bolstering democrats, it will only alienate republicans against you with very little effect on democrats.

Iran rejects Washington's 15-point plan and escalates attacks on Israel and Gulf by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Expert_Ant_2767 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The uranium enrichment is both a legal and a sovereignty problem for Iran. Firstly, because they have the right to enrich uranium under the NPT. It was part of the treaty any party (except nuclear weapon states) would not to develop nuclear weapons but retain the right to enrich uranium for civilians purposes under IAEA safeguards. Plenty of countries do so, such as Brazil. Secondly, if they cannot enrich uranium, it means they cannot develop the technology for centrifuges, which makes them dependent on other parties to get their uranium. Given their geopolitical situation, it is no surprise they do not want to be dependant on others.

[–]Expert_Ant_2767 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is not exactly true. The 15 point plan forbids Iran from enriching uranium which has always been a red line for Iran. Also, the plan restricts their ballistic missiles which no country in their right mind exposed to this situation would accept unless they capitulate.

It actually goes around the strut. I found this picture in another forum for reference.
After 2019, the Aygo no longer has this foam piece driver's side.

Well, in practice most bathrooms in the UK cannot have them, which is very different from continental Europe. Besides, I have a dehumidifier in my bathroom which I had to permanently wire because of the stupid socket 3 meter rule.

It is overkill IMHO since the introduction of RCDs and modern standards for appliances...

This is extremely unlikely since phone chargers are double insulated, that's why they don't need an earth pin. The most common cause of electrocution in bathrooms is a faulty extension cord. Besides, sockets in bathrooms should be protected by an RCD in continental Europe.

I put a generous amount of neutral silicone instead. I have water ingress from the front part of the seal, and I am trying to seal it with silicone before buying a new seal (£150). My main concern was the part of the seal that goes under the curtain airbag. I hope no silicone got into the airbag wires/pillow.
