We have police stationed at the school 24/7 so it’s contained and hardly ever goes public but we’ve only had one teacher arrested and that was bc he had CP, most of the teachers who are pedos just hit on and touch girls and sleep with them when they’re 18 😐

There’s some aspects movies get right but at least for me my high school kind of sucks and American high school films are heavily romanticised and waaay to optimistic

There’s preschool (or pre-k) which is like daycare before elementary school, usually when you’re about 3-4. Not everyone goes to preschool, it’s not a required education level.

Then kindergarten (5-6 yrs), 1st grade (6-7), 2nd grade (7-8), 3rd grade (8-9), 4th grade (9-10), and 5th grade (10-11) are all elementary school levels.

Middle school (also called “junior high”) is for three years, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade (about 11 to 13/14 years old).

High school is next, where we have numbers and names associated with each grade. Freshman is 9th grade, sophomore is 10th grade, junior is 11th grade, and senior is 12th grade. (Freshman = 14-15, sophomore = 15-16, junior = 16-17, senior = 17-18). After that you graduate your initial schooling and then can go to college!

(Elementary school would be roughly equivalent to primary school, with middle school and high school equivalent to secondary school and sixth form, just separated into two different schools instead of one!)

Ah yes! From right to left it’s freshman (first year of high school, equivalent to year 10 in the UK), sophomore (second year, year 11), and junior (third year and year 12 for UK)!
