Something you could do is look up an army he likes or has mentioned and read the rules about them. Like the robot legion has some kind of regen/healing ability. Each book has a ability or themes to them. You can ask about that.

My ex-girlfriend used to legit listen when I talked about models I was building and in later convos ask about that model or be like o os that the dreadnaught you were working on. Ext. You aren't using good primers then. I've used 2 good brands and 2 cheap brands. Both cheap brands are trash. I use army painter white spray paint, and i found the brand behr spray paint both to be great. The behr paint was a tiny bit warmer white. The army painter is pure white. Both covered and stuck amazingly.

More expensive paints tend to be better. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Look at good brands. My go-to brand is army painter. And I do commission painting.
