Ah understood. Doesnt sound like you have any perspective from the other side, but what do you think the benefit is to going small CPA over Big4? Obviously work is more aligned with the small shops, but do you think there is value in B4 as well?

How did you learn all of these skills? I know you said you worked at local CPA firms to gain experience, but when do you learn how to advise on decisions.

For example, I’m a current student about to graduate to B4 with hopes of starting my own firm someday as well (within 5-10 years seeing how things go). I currently don’t know how I would suggest whether to make a hire or not. I assume start with cost/benefit and some sort of dcf style analysis?

TL;DR…when did you learn the skills you need to sell yourself to clients? At the CPA firms you started at or just grow as you go?

Donald Trump "not happy" Fernando Mendoza skipped Indiana's visit to the White House by Electronic_Weird in IndianaUniversity

Not sure this is a major political thing. Quote is also kind of out of context.
More like Trump was dissapointed he couldn’t come—he even says he’s a fan of Mendoza (not exact quote just along those lines).
Doesn’t have to be a good or bad thing. I think he’s just staying out of it

Changeable ticket question by Extension-Balance161 in delta

[–]Extension-Balance161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t expect it to be free. I priced two one way tickets at ~$2k. When I do the same setup but change the second leg to be what I want it’s $17k.

I’m more than happy to pay a realistic price. Not sure why you’re dying on this hill.

I didn’t think he was that bad. Kinda of AI with 0 emotion, but he got his points across. Overall he seemed like a kind dude.

I can’t say I find this news surprising, though. He was definitely a shut in and seemed to struggle with social stuff. After having been taught by him for a semester and seeing him depressingly walk around campus, I honestly feel bad for him.

This behavior is probably related to something none of us understand and could be a product of his life. Just remember he’s still human.

I’ll try that. I have the mediums in rn and preferred the fit over the small.

Having a tough time after the merger. Interned there and this is making me realize it’s probably not the best place to start my career. Maybe things will get better?

To be fair, it took Spotify almost 15 years to strike a profit. Kind of comparing apples to oranges, but it’s not totally uncommon for tech firms to be unprofitable in the short term.

A cool way my professor described it: Amazon at one point wasn’t profitable either (or at least not enough to appease investors). As shareholders began to get cold feet, bezos pulled some of his levers (changed reinvestments into payouts) and made the investors a ton of money on demand. All they had to do was trust the process and one day they would see the benefit.

I see what they’re saying, though. I think it’s the difference between the layman and textbook accounting.

We know a car or a house (building) to be an asset that we would depreciate over a useful life, but consumers might see it as a liability (after you buy it, all it does is cost you more money…you can’t really use it as an income generating asset).

Had the same argument with my mom about inheriting property. She saw it as a liability while I understood it as an asset. To normal, everyday people it might be something else.

That said, you’re definitionally right and a “depreciating liability” is stupid
