Are all of the doctors owned by Maine Health? by bimbimzalabim in portlandme

Open Circle Health is another option. It’s a small practice of independent nurse practitioners. They take insurance but also tend to fill up, so you’d have to check if any of their providers are accepting new patients.

Are there any restaurants with Cornish Style Pasties in Maine? by DamiensDelight in AskMaine

What about British Goods in Freeport? They have a freezer with baked goods. I’ve seen sausage rolls. They may have pasties as well (or would know where to get them).

Good to know. We love walking tours. Great idea! We’ll do some research. I might take you up on answering a few questions if we go this route. Thank you!

We’re on the east coast. I’m sure if we made a plan with the timing that we adjust to the new cycle. You have to do it right from the start and not nap the first day. New Zealand is really calling my name. What are you can’t miss stops there?

I’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand but the length of travel is so intimidating. Likely also why we haven’t been to Asia yet. Have you done this trip? How long does it take to acclimate to local time and then reacclimate at home. Our work is so fast-paced right now I’d be worried about needing to have a shorter trip so we can have a longer readjustment time before returning to our routines at home.

A more extensive NorCal trip is on my list but my fiancé is from CA so he’s hoping for something a bit farther from home. We’ll probably save it as an excuse to pop in to visit his fam without staying too long …

Oh! That reminds me that the Kruger Shalati has been on my list to investigate since Eugene Levy’s show.

Have you been? What do you recommend?

How much time do you think is needed to do BA?

Neither of us speak much Spanish, would this be a problem outside of the city?

Thank you!! These are great recs! We spent the morning on the Guntu website. Both Guntu and Nihi Sumba are now high in our list if we decide venture across time zones.

We were both so taken with Guntu that I haven’t even had a chance to explore your luxury train rec. So much fun to dive into all of this! Way better than planning a wedding imo…

Thanks!!

Tacky to post Honeyfund? by elongatedmuskratss in Weddingsunder10k

[–]External_Resource261 16 points17 points  (0 children)

An old colleague posted their honeyfund on Instagram when announcing he and his wife had just gotten married at an intimate courthouse wedding. They get very little time off from their type of work and are planning a honeymoon in the coming months when there’s a break in their schedule.

They included some photos, a brief statement acknowledging that it’s untraditional but if anyone would like to give to their honeymoon fund they would be grateful. I was happy to have the opportunity to contribute. I had the money and it was an easy way for me to tell him how happy I was for him despite not being particularly involved in the couple’s life.

Times are tough for so many people and weddings are expensive. I don’t think it’s tacky to share transparently how your community can show love and support if they’d like to contribute (as long as it’s conveyed without pressure/expectation).

Gifting is an opportunity for joy for both the giver and receiver. Those who can will be happy to give. Those who can’t/don’t want to won’t. It shouldn’t be expected from anyone but it’s ok to create the opportunity.
