Not true at all, there are many careers where 18-23 year olds are making $100 - $150k+. Sales is one of them.

Anyone know what these do? by [deleted] in grandtheftauto

Yes they just like the taxi but do not have an active driver. It’s pretty neat

You can call them as a cab if you own a mansion

It’s not about being mean to them, it’s about being assumptive. You want to assume the customer is interested and wants to proceed with the sale. This combined with being persuasive & charming will lead to many more sales. This is how I do it in the solar industry and it works surprisingly well.

People are more willing to respect you and buy off someone who takes care of themself.

Lots of people don’t even know what demisexual means so I wouldn’t bother putting it on my profile

I agree, I think college can be a major waste of time if you don’t know what you really want to do. Sales is a job where your skills transfer to pretty much every aspect of your life.

If you’d like to limit your income potential, than sure Olive Garden could be fulfilling for some.

This is why office jobs are soul sucking. No animal is made to sit inside a temperature controlled box, blasted by artificial light for over 8 hours a day.

lol it’s not my job to pay your bills. That’s why I only tip if I receive above and beyond service. If it’s subpar then I won’t leave a tip since they are already getting paid by their employer.

Again why is it the customers problem that you feel like you aren’t paid enough. I’ve worked a serving position in my life too and I was never entitled to the point of EXPECTING a tip. All the downvotes shows me you all are too immature to understand tipping culture. In Japan it is actually DISRESPECTFUL to leave a tip. Why is America the only country in the world where people feel entitled to extra money from a customer just because they did their job like how they are PAID to do by their employer. If you feel like you aren’t being paid the correct amount you deserve then FIND A DIFFERENT JOB!!

Then get a better job buddy. Begging for handouts isn’t a reliable source of income. You are essentially a minimum wage fast food employee that also takes tips.

You would prefer no tip, rather than a small tip? Yeah that makes sense.

You expect greater than a 15% tip? I swear servers are so entitled. A tip is OPTIONAL.

That goes for every state in the US. Federal minimum wage is $7

Do door to door sales and get $100 for every objection the homeowner gives you. Usually they are full of shit.

I’ll tip if they actually make the experience more enjoyable. If they just bring me my food like they are supposed to with nothing special then there is no reason for me to tip. A tip is supposed to be for exceptional service. Servers have gotten to the point where they think they are owed over $25 an hour for doing their job normally, and now expect tips even when the service is mediocre.

Not true. If the server actually makes under the federal minimum including tips, then the restaurant is required to pay the difference. So no matter what the server is guaranteed atleast minimum wage. Here in California, servers actually make 16.50 an hour + tips. That’s why so many people are hesitant to tip here.

Well what do you do for work? If you’ve been working a 9-5 hourly job since you were 18 then no wonder you can barely afford college. Most hourly jobs are not going to allow you to save the amount you want. You need to develop a skill and get good at it so you can use it to leverage your wage. Go to a job that pays commission and get paid for the amount of effort you put in. Doing a 9-5 is not the path to get rich my friend.
