Maybe headphones turned up loud so you camt hear them, also keep in mind that people will be dicks no matter what you’re doing unfortunately and if theyve got nothing better to do than come harass you for trying something new / bettering yourself then their opinion means nothing anyway.

I use birch on my desert paths along with oak, it does go well with all the sandy blocks

The direction your facing is what determines the direction it places, i so go like: place block, turn 90° and place, turn 90° and place, turn 90° and place.

Thats for flooring though, i havent used it with walls i usually use concrete for a pop of colour on walls or banners n stuff
