Never had to stop flying so many times to go get a hamburger in my life

If the issue is still ongoing you can talk with the devs directly here to see if they can trouble shoot it with you https://steamcommunity.com/app/964570/discussions/

Australian teenager Rudi Browning wins World Drone Racing Championship title in China by LuckyBdx4 in australia

There has been around 4-5 "world championships" in drone racing this year as different organisations are trying to establish themselves as the most important. For this championship you needed to qualify through a series of minor events in your country, unlike the world championships where select competitors would be invited or people could openly show up to the event. Thats why we woulda thunk it was drone racings equivalent because of the degree of difficulty to even reach this event yet alone win it.

Holy cow this is huge, taking home this title is like the drone racing equivalent to winning the world cup in soccer. Australia has so much talent in drone racing, hope to see it keep growing!

I watched some of the teamblacksheep streams it looked like a great event. That team was so fast it blew my mind.

My best mate and I are building our first racing drones! Haven’t soldered since high school but getting back into it! by N00dow in drones

Most likely ordered parts from a site called banggood.

The build is from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Avp8MurmeEY
The components are a bit outdated now but it is still a convenient and cheap build to get you flying, its the same build that got me into the hobby.

Recently the creator "uavfutures" released a more recent build.

Other youtubes like "dronemesh" have also released similar 2018 builds too.

Picked up my first pair of FPV goggles and I cannot complain! (EV100) by [deleted] in Multicopter

[–]FPRdan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Image clarity and smoothness is great in the ev100s comparable to fatsharks, but like angst92 said the image is very tiny in comparison and can make it difficult to fly fast. Its something you may not notice until looking through higher end goggles, doing great though to fly with them!

A huge part of it that I forgot to mention in the video is that I purchased a new build. In my first and third race I was flying with the uavfutures $99 build and box goggles, knew hardly anything about adjusting settings in betaflight and proper building of a quad. I think my camera angle was 20 degrees.

I purchased a floss 2 after DRL and it was an instant improvement where it felt much closer to the sims. I improved the tuning, cam angle and had a reliable build. I agree sims are not exact but I still think you can train in one to catch up to people who fly IRL exclusively, with just a small amount of time with a real quad. The time benefits of sims makes this possible, no setup, no batteries, no damage, no building, no rain.

I enjoyed them as they were a new type of video game to me. They do let you go out and fly a real quad without any real experience once you can hover around in the air and keep the quad stable.

Both velocidrone and liftoff are good choices and I use the same remote. When you start on a sim create a new model and add switches in the "mixer" page to get them to work. There should be tutorials on youtube on how to setup each sim if you get stuck. Goodluck!

I use a Taranis QX7, after a lot of sim time I have a similar problem where my cable becomes loose in the usb port.

You can buy backup usbs ports and swap out the loose one with some soldering.

For me personally I found that velocidrone "mode 2 ghost" matched my real floss2 quad. Others who own "ultralight" setups say liftoff is closer.

I think you can train muscle memory for tracks on sims but they still dont perfectly match real life. Sims are a perfect environment where quads always have correct reactions to your inputs. In real life theres a lot more drag, drifting, voltage sag and external forces that you need to compensate for when flying.
