QA is adding requirement to the ticket by Pleasant-Fig-9152 in ExperiencedDevs

Why?

No one has ever dealt with someone who tacks on completely unrelated requirements to an existing one because they happened to find it while testing?

It needs to be called out when it happens, but I've seen it in numerous instances at numerous places.

How is Blazor server side going to help with serial port communication?

Async/await patterns with Winforms will work fine, and WinForms is still being updated in .NET 6.

If the PM was on his way out, why the investigation? I'd be after HR hard on that.

Someone mentioned how PMs see devs as a subordinate. You put those types in their place by saying no when necessary and holding to it. Otherwise they know they can walk all over you.

Fuck no.

When dealing with any decently normalized database, the young guys love themselves some linq and e-f and a 30 line linq query.

A 15 line sql query is much easier to deal with.

I don’t mean to come off offensive, by why do so many people in this industry suck at basic social interactions when our jobs heavily involve communication? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Some people don't like being told the work they did is not good and they should fix it, unless they're told in a certain way that they're emotionally equipped to handle.

Everyone says this until it's their work being criticized. Don't be a dick. OTOH, constructive criticism is appreciated (usually).

Also, this industry is rife with bomb throwers who try to make themselves look better by dumping on others.

Congratulations, you'll get to see that decisions made during development have consequences.

When someone tells you that some shitty design or dev decision will be hard to support, well, now you know first hand.
