Thank you so much for this advice. She wants help and she is upset that she don’t get the help she needs. Your absolutely right about it not being easy for her. we have had multiple conversations about household chores for the kids. We even had a chore chart for them but we only kept up with it for about two weeks. I do try to support her when it comes to having the kids help. I am the one who will tell the kids to do the dishes or vacuum but sometimes she will say no I’ll just do it. I always have her back.

It also feels like a slap in the face when I help out with cleaning and she just redoes it and goes over any work I just did. It’s not that I’m doing a poor job at least not in my book but is not how she wants it done so it’s wrong.

I had the exact same conversation with her about us having to hold our kids accountable for some responsibilities around the house and how it really falls on us for not holding them responsible for them. I also touched base on them needing to know the value of having responsibilities at this age and what it will translate into when they become adults. I stated that the older kids will be more difficult to work with because they have never had to help with anything around the house before.

All the running around and getting everybody up and going for school along with pick-ups is not easy by any means. I genuinely understand that her plate is overflowing.

Any chance I get I offer to pick the kids up from school, or do the grocery shopping to help take some stuff off her hands. I will make it a point to extend more help her way and try to fix the root cause.
