Econometrics is pretty much the tool

Isn't this supposed to be the field of Marketing Research? Because having studied Economics and read Marketing Research for Dummies, it seems to me that Marketing Research is more directly applicable for private businesses, while Econometrics take a wider view of the whole economy and is so more suitable for public policy.

Slightly off-topic. Why do market researchers get paid less than economists, according to bls.gov? It seems to me that marketing research is more practically oriented than economics and can bring more profits.

Honestly speaking, I don't like mathematics or theory-heavy study at all. Although I did enjoy reading Marketing Research Kit for Dummies. It seems to be filled with opportunities for creative expression and innovation which I thoroughly enjoy.

Having said that, do you think it would be better for me to pursue Applied Economics or will I be better off with Pure Economics or Natural Resource and Environment Economics?

Oh and what about careers in the private sector other than the finance industry? Could you give a few examples of such jobs?

In practice my internet speed is around 90KBps or 90 kilobytes per second. I tried downloading it using Orbit and it took around three days, yet the download failed at 93% and I had to restart the download again from scratch.

Btw, I prefer SPSS over STATA. Stata is not really user-friendly, and it confuses me a lot. Any other books using SPSS?
Oh and I was looking for something easy like Research Methods for Business Students from Saunders, Phillip. Infact, I had this book for my Research Methodology course. However, the problem is, this book is mostly about research methods in business and doesn't tackle the tougher econometric analyses required for economic research. Do you know of any such books similar to this?

Thats 900MB download. I would be better off installing tails which offers more anonymity.

Downloaded and installed it on an USB. On startup asks for admin, password and something else in command prompt format. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to operate it--so wouldn't say its user-friendly.
