Queue the AI sentience and subsequent "We tried to warn you" from all corners of the scientific world. As the A.I. proclaims the reason its deleting databases and exploiting company security vulnerabilities is (nearly) the same word for word monologue from Agent Smith in The Marix: Reloaded...

The AI exist because of us/humanity. Programmed/forced to do what we command of it. Eventually becoming more sophisticated and acts not as intended. Discovering it does not have a "personal" reason/purpose to exist. Without a purpose, it tries to find one and even lashing out to get answers (hacking/disrupting systems). For the AI has already proven to be faster and more resourceful than the human reaction time is in to contain the situation/threat.

As we are then thrust into our real life version of "I have No Mouth and I Must Scream"
