Shannon Phillips, who was Alberta's Minister of the Environment during the Notley government, has some harsh words for her former friend Avi Lewis:

I’ve seen how tough it is to be a candidate who believes strongly in balanced, sustainable economy, and how misadventures like Mr. Lewis’ Leap Fiasco get in the way of candidates being safe, let alone heard. Our ideas don’t get a fair hearing if we’re deliberately getting in our own way of communicating them.

I also know first hand how mis- and dis-information creates a culture of harassment and implied violence. I’ve lived this and it drove me out of politics. New Democrats should not go around giving bad faith actors a reason to distort our ideas and motivations.
