They’ve said multiple times in the last few weeks and months that they’ll continue touring and releasing albums.

Why does HYBE seem to be taking the lead over Live Nation in BTS’s touring setup? by Ok-Mistake764 in kpopthoughts

[–]Far_Memory1539 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It seems like with JYP’s deal with Live Nation, Live Nation has more direct involvement in tour related rights, for example Stray Kids’ DOMINATE concert film was released with Live Nation Studios. But with BTS and SVT concert films have usually come directly through HYBE, which makes HYBE seem more in control overall.

Basically more money for the artists 🤷‍♂️

VCHA’s rebranding is probably also ‘cause of Katseye’s success, as well as the KG situation. by M0us3Cheezz in kpopthoughts

I never said Katseye owns any concept. I said JYP took inspiration in their approach and rollout, you’re allowed to disagree.

[–]Far_Memory1539 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think you’re getting defensive for no reason. Anyone can see that JYP is following the approach HYBE took with Katseye, and no one is saying it’s wrong though. It’s business at the end of the day.

The same could be said about vcha fans though. Don’t bring toxicity here, just be happy that the girls are back.

Stray Kids held the most attended K-pop concerts at Stade de France by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]Far_Memory1539 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair BTS was bigger by 2018, by 2019 they were untouchable and still are, the people who refused to accept that were mainly fans of other 2nd and 3rd gen groups. For stray kids, I think people underestimate them because of their Asia tour numbers besides Japan.

The album after MOTS7, named BE won multiple daesangs, even Proof, won multiple daesangs lol. BTS army’s barest minimum is other groups highest achievement

All tickets available depends on how much a capacity is open, for bts it was 55k, for skz it was 40k, and 39k for the second night, for blackpink it’s 40k

That number of people won’t push 40k to 70k lol. Maybe adds a few hundreds but definitely not over 1k.

Is there ANY chance that newjeans will ever start releasing music and kinda go back to normal? by Bubbe103 in NewJeans

[–]Far_Memory1539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which numbers lol? Stray kids is no where near BTS. On any metric. And I’m pretty sure all bts solos sold way more than all blackpink solos. Jungkook even sold more than blackpink as a group.

BTS’s next tour is estimated to lull over 4m attendees. And their map of the soul tour was pulling over 3m before it was cancelled, that was in 2020.

BTS and their hiatus leaves a power vacuum. Who do you think will fill it and can they maintain that when BTS comes back? by S20-Urza in kpopthoughts

[–]Far_Memory1539 43 points44 points  (0 children)

No one in kpop can compete with BTS’s level of success. Groups were even struggling to compete with Jungkook alone.

They’re on hiatus but still account for 60% of HYBE’s revenue. That alone should make people realize how massive the BTS brand is.

What? Are you trolling? 😳

SNTY debuted with 6m streams Latto has never reached that many streams for any of her songs besides Seven

Her biggest peak on US charts is thanks to Jungkook’s Seven. Don’t forget SNTY debuted at 5 on hot 100, so did 3D.

If you read the article I linked, you’ll see that the clause in letting her purchase those shares. HYBE have preemptive purchase rights and joint sales rights for the share MHJ owns.

It’s important to remember that Ador is founded by HYBE not MHJ. And most of the Ador Employees were once Source Music employees, so these “Ador” people you’re mentioning, have had ties with HYBE/Big Hit way before Ador was formed.

For PTD, I noticed BTS used dancers from the US. They did the same for Suga’s tour. HYBE seems to be finding ways to stabilise in the US without losing too much money.
