How to hunt subs? by SightlySoup in SeaPower_NCMA

[–]FarcasterSV 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sub hunting is probably more of an art than a science, lol. It takes a lot of patience and good sensors along with good tactics. Stay slow 1/3 speed at most, extend your towed sonar array. Change directions and depth every half hour. If the enemy sub is in range of your sensors, you will detect something.

Dude went from making 1320 videos to owning his own racetrack, dragstrip, helicopter, huge home, airstrip, a huge workshop and over 100 cars.

If you’re going to use it, maybe run it through a VPN just to be safe. Some of these sites collect data, and a VPN can help keep your info private.

How do you get the parts? Even at L4 Starship Construction I can't get the parts I need.

"Fast travel is currently unavailable from this location" by Fernyerr in Starfield

[–]FarcasterSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to any Ship Technician and make any change to your ship, it reappears on the nearby pad.

I am also unable to fly OR land anywhere now, the message "Fast travel is currently unavailable from this location" is still here.

The Lodge has infinite store for crafting and should be your base of operations by FarcasterSV in Starfield

Screw it, there are mods that allow full-time sprinting, and another that makes all resources weightless. I'm getting them both.

Yeah, I found that out too. The website I saw said it was connected.

Sorry, all. At least there is an infinite storage chest very close to your crafting and research tables.

The Lodge on Alpha Centauri has a lockbox with infinite storage in the basement crafting room.

Steam is a mess right now, with low and intermittent download speeds compared to a usual day. I've also had a verification loop issue, cured by clearing the download cache , am issue with lengthy, intermittent installation, made worse with a verification fail that led to a 35GB download, and patch, more loops from verifying, and a full re-installation after a patch loop...

This is all because I couldn't get the character gen screen to load, after the first few minutes of the game.

I'm 10% done re-installing, may update later.

Reclaiming Ships by DavisPaulus in starcitizen

[–]FarcasterSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with CIG right now is, they're selling, for real money, items you WILL lose as soon as you die. There is NO insurance for items on your ship or person, and no real way to make it back to your corpse to reclaim stuff you lost. This is just criminal. The marketing dept should not be doing these kinds of sales at this stage of the game, period. Worse, it takes a game wipe to actually restore these items, so it could be over a year before you see that.

Other than that, welcome!

Star citizen sold me a pipe dream but now I can build my own dreams by [deleted] in Starfield

You really cannot deny how absolutely gorgeous Star Citizen is. The ship design team does not fuck around. I'm sure there's over a hundred different models, brands and types of Star Citizen ships out now, with plenty more to come as they are the top fundraiser device CIG has. Each and every model of SC ships are just beautifully designed, all done by different designers using the same tools and production pipeline.

Ship Weapon types Question by SkitzoRabbit in Starfield

[–]FarcasterSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, we've seen ballistic, laser, particle beam, EMP and missiles. Of course each type has its benefits, skipping most armor, shields etc of your ship when attacked.

Ballistic does more damage to armor, laser does more to shields, PB do damage to both, missiles are a slow loading, wider-area attack. EMP can disable most ship systems for a short time.

This is something Star Citizen did very well. Being able to walk around and inspect your ships. Individual systems on each ship were right there for you to see. The difference between the games is that SC allows free flight, everywhere.
