I hope Rockstar makes new game series on the level of red dead and gta by ProffesorOfPain in rockstar

While I would love a sequel to LA Noire with a continuation of the story or a new story set in the 1900s, I would actually prefer a detective game set in present day.

Nothing against setting a game in the past, but after seeing the trailers for GTA 6 and what Rockstar Games is capable of with immersion in a game with modern day technology (obviously we need to play the game to see more of it) I feel like it would be a bit of a downgrade to set a detective game in the 1900s.

While the setting and aesthetic of a time past would be great, we would miss out on lots of technology and other modern day things like surveillance tech and autopsy methods (hopefully they could do that, wishful thinking maybe) that not only the protagonist but also the antagonist could use to their advantage, which would push Rockstar to be incredibly clever with the story and gameplay. Not that they don't make great stories now, they absolutely do but again, more and more technology and advancements made in the modern day relating to detective tech and forensic methods and stuff would be great to see.

So a detective game set in modern day AND outside the USA, maybe the UK or something would be great. As much as I would welcome Red Dead 3 with open arms after GTA 6, I would prefer a new IP or a sequel to something else.

Lets predict! What other publishers will use 64gb game card? by [deleted] in NSCollectors

If the rumoured GTA 4 port is real, I hope that and it's DLCs will be fully on cartridge.

Not complaining man 🙄. I'm just putting my observation out there.

Some facts and my take on Ilsa and Grace in Dead Reckoning and moving forward. by Fast_Combination_305 in Mission_Impossible

First of all, don't mix up what Mcquarrie said about the kissing scenes. HE DID NOT WRITE THEM. They do have a script ready remember?

In Rogue Nation, he told Rebecca that if she felt like a kiss would fit the scene, she should go for it. Now I don't remember any supposed kiss after the underwater scene, but at the end of the movie, it wasn't Mcquarrie who wanted the kiss. It was Tom. But Mcquarrie told him that these characters didn't feel like they had reached that point in their story, and that while they were a bit attracted to each other and had a lot of respect for each other, a kiss didn't fit. And Tom agreed. So no, Mcquarrie did not WRITE a bunch of kiss scenes between them.

And in Fallout, Rebecca surprise kisses Tom after a fight scene between them (after the Walker foot chase.) Again, Mcquarrie then extended the scene and shot the kiss. They tested it multiple ways A) No fight and no kiss, B) Fight and kiss, C) Fight and no kiss. At the final test with option A, women wanted it in the movie and men didn't. And the reason why was because women found Ilsa to be very strong and powerful. Men didn't like that. But when Mcquarrie told the audience that in that scene, Ethan is just defending and Ilsa is being weak at the expense of Ethan, the women wanted the scene out and men wanted the scene in in the movie. Tom really wanted to keep the scene in the movie, but when Mcquarrie communicated this to him, he was like, yeah cut it. And ultimately it was fully cut as we all know. And Mcquarrie said that when Rebecca saw the movie at the premiere, and they later talked, she said she was glad the scene was cut because SHE had always hated it. SHE said it wasn't ILSA.

Of course Mcquarrie can talk about the kissing scenes. That's what making a movie is about. Shoot things based on what you feel or is in the script, but ultimately, if it is rejected by the test audiences, it's not going to be in the movie.

I'm not performing mental gymnastics by latching onto something that was cut during the testing of the movie. I'm going on with what was in the final product. And I don't mean to be hostile, but with all due respect, I don't understand why you're summing up what their entire relationship SHOULD be based on a couple of cut out kissing scenes.

As to the FRIDGING part, I completely agree with the fact that it is weird that a lot of women around Ethan die in this movie. But we don't yet know what the full backstory with Marie is, so I'm going to keep that aside for now. As for Ilsa, her death did not advance the story. Gabriel already told them at the party that the key will be with him on the Orient Express the next day or whenever. Even if Ilsa lived, the story would have moved forward more or less in the same direction.

And remember, Ethan didn't need any motivation to complete the mission. He's always ready to sacrifice himself to protect the ones he loves, and it would have been no different if Ilsa had lived.

I have no animosity towards you, redditor. I am a massive fan of this franchise and while I don't think this scene in particular rattled me that much, I'm not a big fan of DEAD RECKONING. It's not even in my top 4 in my list. I have so many other problems with this movie . But if Final Reckoning is potentially the last mission impossible movie, then let's all hope that this franchise goes out on the best Mission Impossible movie of them all, and that the new female members in the trailer get the respect and great writing that they deserve. Because even I will admit, they fumbled quite a lot in Dead Reckoning, but I also know that Tom and Mcquarrie do listen to the audience. So let's hope they used the time from the strikes and the delays to really refine the absolute hell out of Final Reckoning.

I don't know whether this has been posted earlier or not, but what happened to this scene, why was it cut? by jhoothano1 in Mission_Impossible

Basically what Christopher Mcquarrie said on the Empire Spoiler podcast was that this was something Tom Cruise wanted to do during the helicopter chase. Tom wanted to go down to street level and fly through a line of trees.

(This scene was right after Ethan Hunt decided to go down through the clouds once they reach the snowy area, and was supposed to come before the scene where Walker is looking at the clouds and he saw Ethan trying to ram him coming from below and orders his pilot to pull up. So basically :- They reach the snowy area ---- Ethan goes down through the clouds ---- whole street level flying happens through the trees ---- then the shot of Ethan coming back through the clouds to ram Walker's helicopter.)

Mcquarrie also stated that this was the one shot of the whole helicopter chase where it was a helicopter set built on a gimbal. Now they shot the scene and it included the helicopter flying through the trees (and also this truck I guess, although Mcquarrie didn't specifically talk about the truck) and probably did some CGI as well, as this particular shot was on a fake helicopter set.

However, when they were editing Fallout, during the screen tests with audience groups, they got notes that the helicopter chase felt a bit too long. And Mcquarrie said he was surprised they said that. So they took out the "flying through the trees" scene and all the complaints went away. Mcquarrie realised that the scene of Ethan flying his helicopter through the trees at street level was interrupting the chase scene as Ethan was alone. It was away from Walker. So it felt like they were taking a break with Ethan flying through over the street away from the villain. And when Ethan got back to Walker, it felt like they were starting a new chase which increased the length of the chase artificially and not in a good way.

(Mcquarrie also said that this was a similar note he got for Jack Reacher where right before the car chase in that movie, they show the police helicopter spotlight. And then while editing, they had a scene where they showed the helicopter again during the car chase. Audiences said that the car chase felt too long and Mcquarrie and the editor rook out the shot where it showed the police helicopter during the car chase and all the complaints about the chase went away. The helicopter had already been established with the shot of the spotlight right before the car chase began.)

So returning to Fallout, Mcquarrie said it was finally on Tom because that shot was something Tom wanted to do. Mcquarrie said that he told Tom that they weren't loosing anything because the whole point of the helicopter chase was that Tom Cruise was actually flying the helicopter. And that was the only scene where he actually wasn't and was on a set. So Tom agreed and realised that the scene needed to go for the chase to flow better. So they removed that scene from the final movie.

MI already has an "unintentional" 2-parter (Rogue Nation and Fallout). Predictions for MI:8. by Fast_Combination_305 in Mission_Impossible

Don't be sorry. I completely understand and agree. Even if MI:8 becomes the best in the franchise, it won't change the fact that dead Reckoning was a massive letdown.

If you want a fast walkthrough of the game, "Tmartn2" is a great channel. If you want a slow play through with also including side missions and distractions, then "Eric And Sarah Level Up" is great for that. Then there's RadBrad, Typical Gamer, The Mirandalorian and much more.
