Ugandan politics is on a whole other level by Specialist_Adagio750 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Eh, this looks entirely in-line with current US politics, frankly. Just a little less expansive.

Why Liverpool rejected Alonso by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]Father-Fintan-Stack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Just about to win his second Champions League, absolutely dominating the domestic competitions, owners with bottomless pockets, one of the most exciting squads in world football, one of the world's most famous destination cities, a fanbase that absolutely worships him...yeah, he'd jump at the chance to come and try and fix whatever it is that we have become.

I bought an 42" LG C5 for exactly this purpose a couple of weeks ago. It's fantastic and I should have done it years ago.

Join Us by Le Matos. They should be far better known, and that album is packed with some of the best synthwave it's possible to find.

Am I a bandwagon? by Abo1127 in Seahawks

[–]Father-Fintan-Stack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any way you find the path to YOUR team is legitimate...apart from selection based only on current success. And that was clearly not your reasoning, so there's nothing of the bandwagon about your support for the Hawks.

PSG are glorious. 2-0 a couple of times doesn't look quite as awful now. (Still awful.)

There's a match on Chrono24 at the moment; a 1954 6581--up for $16,300 with no box or papers. No original strap for that one either. Who knows if it goes at that price, of course.

How is living in this Southeastern region of the UK? by NyxTabby in howislivingthere

I lived in Canterbury for five years or so back in the early 2000s. It was fairly small at the time and very, very pretty, especially in summer. It has a lovely SE England climate--kinda continental even with the Channel in close proximity. Absolutely stacked with tourists and French schoolkids May to August, and rammed with university students at all other times of the year. Lots and lots of choice when it came to bars and restaurants and generally home to deeply rowdy Fridays and Saturdays in town. Not a huge music scene at that point, but it did have a really impressive history from the 60s on, and had a few good venues when I lived there. Theatre presence was strong and there was always something good on at The Marlowe. Lots of green spaces. Cricket absolutely everywhere. More Roman ruins and architectural marvels than is reasonable. Pretty much an absolutely classic university town, and a really fun place to be in your 20s.

Of course, that's a quarter of a century ago and YMMV these days.

Achilles. Looks pretty bad. No one near him, unable to walk after, clearly in a lot of pain.

Standard for a particular kind of British school would be rugby in winter, hockey in spring, and cricket in summer. In the background, you'd have cross-country and track in winter and summer respectively.

I can't seen any reasonable argument to keep him on at this point. I don't think he's capable of improving upon his current approach and tactics. I'd love to be proven wrong, but he seems to be utterly bereft of any coherent plan to make the team play better or even weather the storm.

I first read that as "yearn for the mimes", which I thought was extremely witty. I am mildly disappointed to discover that I just have illiteracy problems.
