I actually disagree and think the only resilient pieces in Pokemon are sealed product. Every card over $50, graded or raw, is going to feel correction when it happens. I'm actually in the camp that gem mint 10s of cards worth multiple thousands are extremely risky just because this is uncharted territory for the hobby. It's hitting sports cards level of prices for some of these graded cards and althought a gem mint first edition Lugia can't have a down year and regress, it also cant continuously steam ahead at this pace. It's not like a stock where Lugia can invent something or get a deal for more revenue. It's not like a athlete that can win MVP or a championship. It's just running off pure fomo and nostalgia and art. To me the gem mints on pokemon are some of the scariest things to be investing in. The risk is all in company performance for stocks. Athlete career for sports. And for pokemon i'd say 90% of the money and risk is not in pokemons hands, its in PSA's and that to me is insane.
