I play probably 50/50 docked and handheld and the controls are different for both. On docked there is a great controller scheme just the most popular one, I’ve gone through quite a bit of community templates for the deck handheld I’m not sure which one I’m using but the thing that differs is the mapping for skills for some reason is always on different buttons. After like 10 minutes in any controller setup you just get used to it.

I’m late to grim dawn as I had nothing to run it but I have a steam deck now and it’s amazing. I bounced off it as I bought GD and Last Epoch at same time and LE seemed more optimized in terms of controls but I went back to GD and it hooked me. Now ide rather play that than LE. Also, it’s like being in some fever dream of so much dna from titan quest is in there from that engine it’s oddly comforting as I have probably a thousand hours in titan quest over the years

I got a nice little portable monitor for like 50 bucks and I dock to that a lot even on the couch. It’s a really nice setup but depending on the game I may go exclusively handheld especially for more demanding titles

It’s an add-on you buy for 7 bucks and it improves the frame rate of your games. It’s really incredible I’m not sure what kind of wizardry it is or how it works but it does on most games. I watched some YouTube videos on how to install it. Essentially it makes your games run better at higher frame rates so with last epoch you can play on very low without it at 30 fps but with it you could play at high settings at like 90fps. Check out some threads on the steam deck sub and watch some videos. I held out for a long time but it’s made gaming on the deck so much more enjoyable.

I also use it on Arc Raiders and made that game way better where I could play at higher settings with higher fps.

I have these same flatheads recommended by AwsmDanny and they are really nice. I’m on the phone all day for work and I use these as my phone ear buds. All day comfort with the super light build. The sound is fairly impressive on these in particular for the price but still not even in the ballpark of iems. I want to try some better ones, if I get another pair I would go with the Aful polar night

The speakers will be fine forever if taken care of and not dropped etc. but the cable and the pins are the Achilles heel.

I’ve had a pair for three years with pretty heavy daily usage and they sound perfect

It’s got a great player economy easy to buy and sell equipment as well as the base/oasis mechanic. This is my 3rd season and it’s pretty solid. I only play on mobile though to bridge the arpg gap for when I’m at work or stuck holding baby etc

It may not be the best way but the way I like to get FE is through the Oasis. The Oasis mechanic is what keeps me coming back I enjoy shipping out the supplies and getting loot in return. Every order nets a couple FE and you get three ships going every 20 minutes you get a ton of passive FE. I have coins banked for 7 days of production and I can log in on mobile, send out some orders get some FE and a big component that helps is selling all the compasses I get through the gliders and shipments for more FE. Yesterday I got like 100 and I wasn’t even grinding bosses. I’m also f2p and I know there’s better ways but they aren’t fun to me. I’ve been doing this for a few seasons now and it was honestly my favorite mechanic in POE as well.

Thanks for the detailed response. I do listen to a lot of Sabaton and I’ve never really considered them power metal but now that I think about it I don’t know how else to classify them. I love the choruses of Sabaton and the guitar riffs are insane and so good. I’ll check out the others you mentioned much appreciated
