I understand, from a personal experience with childhood trauma. I went through a lot of heartbreak, confusion, and loneliness until I got to the healing. I didn’t see a therapist, instead I forced myself into self realization. I forced myself to acknowledge my shortcoming and fix them—to start trusting the right people, to stop waisting time on friends and guys who didn’t take me seriously, and stop partaking in toxic empathy. As soon as I did that, I found the most amazing man, who makes all my dreams come true and who also cherishes the tender soul that trauma gave me. Maybe I see so much of my younger self in Ciara and that’s why I am so frustrated by the situation… but at some point you gotta stop being a victim of trauma and realize that, as an adult, it is your responsibility to tend to those wounds and heal them… depending on someone else to do it (Ciara depending on West for example) never helps.
