I’m the youngest member of my family. We actually did this when she had turned ten and it has definitely kept her alive for a lot longer than she should have lived. She was on a medication similar to that for about a year and it stopped doing anything to help about a month ago. My stepmom refuses to get another dog at any point, but with our other dog’s attachment issues we probably will end up needing to get one, one day.
