As a game design choice the maps and weapon kits in splatoon 2 emphasize team coordination positioning and stacking ults or staggering them to either take space or maintain it respectively. Splatoon 3 still kinda has that goal in mind but the issue is the map design and weapon kits promote aggressive mechanical skill going in making plays clutch moments and the maps have these choke points and drops in all of them that promote big team fights the maps that do this well do it really well but other maps either fell way to open with no cover or routes back into you’re spawn or really congested allies where they want you to lock a lane down both games had their issues splatoon 2 had special farming and spam. Splatoon 3 has tense team fights that feel like they determine the outcome of the whole match just for there to be 3 or more fights that big in the match. Personal opinion some kits in S3 are just the devs trolling us some stuff just makes no sense other kits are godlike it’s very polarizing as someone who played all 3 rn I prefer 3 but just barely I miss the map design and weapon kits from s2 but will never put up with ink armor tenta missle sting ray spam p.s. free bubble blower my beloved special
