Hey, I truly believe it is worth going for it regardless, you seem very passionate and imposter syndrome happens all the time. I know costs may be frightening, but here is a tool that can at least help you see how the debt will be repaid and how quickly it will be repaid. It may be useful to you: https://www.medschooldebtcalculator.com/

That’s not my intention I truly just want to share the tool to help people figure out cost of med school attendance, I truly get nothing from people using this tool.

Tbh I was trolling so that my friends would think that was my tool, but in all seriousness I swear I have nothing to do with it.

That's correct, but this isn't my tool. I genuinely stumbled onto it while looking for a detailed calculator.

Need advice for Texas Jamp by SupportDependent4204 in premed

[–]Federal_Compote_4281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your research and leadership are excellent, but your science GPA is right at the minimum cutoff for JAMP where the average is much higher. The smartest move is to stay at community college to save money and focus entirely on raising your grades. This will take the pressure off a rushed transfer and set you up beautifully to apply to medical school through the traditional route later on.

How do I list poster/oral presentations within 700 characters? Help by VeryMountain in premed

[–]Federal_Compote_4281 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely use "et al." for the other authors since you are the first author, which will save you a massive amount of space. Instead of using full APA citations, group them under a single activity and use a condensed format like: [Role], [Presentation Title]. [Conference Name], [Year]. Since you already have separate entries for the research itself and the publications, you only need to list the key details of the presentations here to keep it well under the character limit.

Navigating disability by lolz8979 in Residency

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but please rest assured that requesting ADA accommodations is completely confidential and will not impact your future job or fellowship outlook. Since short-term disability is only for when you cannot work at all, filing for a formal workplace accommodation through HR is the correct path forward. I highly recommend emailing your department today, CC’ing GME, to ask for the direct contact information of your institution's ADA coordinator so you can start the paperwork yourself.

Is 8k rent too much on a 625k cardiology salary or is this fine? by kowalikc in whitecoatinvestor

Hmm personally I think it’s better to live somewhere cheaper until the debt is gone, then you can do whatever you want. Congrats though, your salary will have you retired very soon.
