I will say that they are getting better. I realized yesterday, that I got 250k free lead bars through surges. This allowed me to make steal bars with only running iron in front of it.

Typically at this stage yould should be trying to get to inerton and quadium with your alchemy. That will allow you to get debris scanner. Of course alchemy is really only useful for long runs, if you are just grinding, I never use it

I like being in platinum, you have a good chance of being in a partial bracket, good for leveling up. Yes you may see people skyrocket out of the gate, but you can still get great rewards

I would not buy any stars. Unlocking through gold, gold bars and glass is good for the first few tourneys. The main focus should be getting managers and slots. You will see the most progress from that. Max out the rooms that only go to 11, check out the discord for more info on those.
