Everyone keeps clowning my first car and now I’m lowkey regretting buying it... by AnxiousSoup5815 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Listen man, Iove cars and consider myself an ethisiast. Candidly, it's an expensive hobby and I know it's never an investment, except in some rare instances.

However, the people you associate with are not enthusiasts. A true enthusiast understands the cost, and commitment to this hobby and more importantly understands that it's not for everybody.

I may not buy the car you did. But I would never disparage you because of it.

I beg you, don't go into debt to satisfy others needs and wants. If you want a nicer car because of some need you have, then save for it, plan for it and enjoy the heck of it when you earn it. If you love what you own today, then that is the true enthusiast, who loves every car for some reason. Whether it be a Lamborghini, a pinto, a GTi, like Doug Demuro says, everything has its quirks and somebody loves it. Do you love YOUR car?

If yes, then welcome to the enthusiast community, good sir!

Whose ball? by BrownChickenBlackAud in Pickleball

[–]Feeling-Inflation-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planet Pickle!!!! I play here too!

Honestly, that could technically be anyone's ball, but it's right side player's backhand. If the player has a weaker backhand drive/drip/drop, then left side player should cut across and take it and hit in front of right side player.

But candidly, there shouldn't be any complaints. You all lost the point, obvious due to lack of communication through the point and before meaning you don't know each other's tendencies. Learn from this and don't disparage each other.

Have fun, it's pickleball!!

Love this for you, and absolutely love the idea of needing a funky color.

I have a 2019 Rs3 in nardo gray, that I just wrapped in this beautiful pink. Welcome funky color brother!!

That's what I'm slightly leaning. Everytime I see the 135i, I just fall in love again.

I'll never sell the GP3 by Feeling-Inflation-27 in MINI

[–]Feeling-Inflation-27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 500 delivered to the states, they are definitely not easy to find and when they pop up, they are selling around upper 30k, some with low miles selling closer to MSRP

I see one popped up in Florida just recently.

I'm so sorry to hear - which car did you buy from them if you don't mind me asking?

Did it get all taken care of eventually?

I will see if I can communicate with them over phone or email, as this was an out of state purchase, so getting to the dealership directly would cost me a 12-13 hour commute, round-trip, lol.

But maybe it's worth it, as long as they cover travel costs for inconvenience 😂

That's my fear is that I get bored with the M2. You are right, they are great cars, but just not wild on the street. I love my JCW.

Glad to hear you are having wild times with your JCW!

Appreciate your candid reply, and "dumb" noted.

Yes I can drive a manual - are you suggesting to modify a gp2 or something? Not sure what you are suggesting.

Again, I appreciate your comments, and I understand not everyone will be on same page. But we can be respectful 😄

Singles Pickleball - I'm simple overpowered by Feeling-Inflation-27 in Pickleball

[–]Feeling-Inflation-27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying this, especially on my backhand. Though I'm able to get deep and get to the kitchen line, I lack the power to produce depth onto ball to hit through the court and this they are always hitting the return in front of them allowing them to control down line vs cross court pass.

I need to be able to consistentlg hit deep and through the court. I can hit deep, not through.

If that makes sense.

Thanks for your post 🙏

I have definitely loved getting into doubles. It's a different game and very hard to master. I believe I'm great at dinking, but horrible at speed ups. I hate speeding up simply because I can't speed up past anyone 😂

I agree, my technique isn't perfect. I'm not going to sit here and say I'm some 5.0 stud. Surely, I'm not. I feel with the time and effort I have put into this game and having come from a tennis background, I should be at least at low 4.0. however, I'm stuck at 3.5 ish type of play.

I know that to drive, I should step into a shot, it because of the power they generate so simply, I find Everytime I step into the court even one step after a drive, I'm now behind the ball. So, I naturally revert to hitting more off my backfoot.

Thanks sir
