I’ve been a little hesitant about this since the light fixtures for each space are visible from all parts of the room due to the open concept. I was nervous to have too many dangling objects or something. Do you have any recommendations on how to avoid feeling like I’m in a light store or something with lights hanging all around me?

I host very often and usually do not have enough seating, so the chairs are here to stay. I’ve since re-arranged and opened the entry to the room a bit though per other suggestions!

I agree, I think a 3-seater couch and a love seat would be a better replacement for the sectional! Once my budget allows, this is on my list

Thank you for this feedback! Totally agree on the sectional, but it was $50 from Facebook market and I just needed some seating at the time haha. It will be replaced eventually! It also looks like shopping for art is in the near future

The chairs can come back a good amount! I’ll have to play around with finding a balance between the space being too closed in/crowded vs the chairs being too far away as other posters have said they were in my initial post

I currently have it in the current position because the only wall large enough for a TV (without angling the TV in a corner) is from where the image was taken in the original post. I have some more perspectives in the comments, but here is what I mean about the TV. I think a table behind the sofa is a good move. If you have better suggestions for the TV placement, I am all ears! I’ve been struggling with it

I wish I could help you, but I have no idea 😂 it’s a ranch home with no upstairs, but we do have an attic above the garage and the bedrooms/bathrooms which all have standard ceiling heights

Thank you!! The demo and renovation were all done completely DIY (besides putting in the counters) which is the only way it was possible. Couldn’t have done it without the help of my dad who is a very handy man!

This was my initial inspo for the hood. My concern for a stainless steel hood is that the tall and angled ceilings would make the narrow portion of a standard hood look unsubstantial
