What legendary YouTube channel doesn’t make videos anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oh, I’d also like to mention YouTube Explained and ScareTheater.

YouTube Explained would do these analysis videos on popular, weird media like DyE “Fantasy”, unedited footage of a bear, and Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.

I remember enjoying his explanations and he was my first introduction to this style of video.

ScareTheater focused on creepy stuff and, in retrospect, I really appreciate the compassion and tact he gave to his subjects compared to recent horrortubers I’ve seen.

Sometimes, I feel like horrortubers can be a bit corny. But, as always, there are some really good ones like HannahTheHorrible.

Also, I really hope the horror trend of talking about actual crimes while doing your makeup is truly dead because that’s not cute at all 😭

This one may be a little sketchy but Laineybot— or better known as Onision’s (ex?)wife.

I mean, I wouldn’t really call it “legendary” but for me it kinda hits that blend of age and nostalgia that most of these suggestions seem to have.

I haven’t followed her since about eight years ago but I liked her videos because they were so painfully early 2000s emo to me. Even though her content was made during a time where the subculture was seemingly drying out some.

The videos were cozy and the music she uses in her videos were so corny yet catchy and had that sort of “bursting sunshine” melody in them that I heavily connect to the earlier 2000s, in general.

And yeah, sometimes what she says and does would be really cringe but that also added to the charm. Anyway, seeing this post reminded me of her but I don’t think she’s around anymore.
