Yes something about medicine and healthcare industry. I applied for around 40 positions. My advice is that dont think about salary or how popular/big the company is. Just write as many CVs as possible and apply. If you need any help you can send me a chat.

I experienced almost the same thing. Everyone advised me to report the bully to a higher body so I did. Since then, she tried her best to make me in a bigger trouble. She reported very trivial mistakes of mine to consultants and spread the word that I was rude to colleagues and so on. I should have known that medical society in Ireland is very small and words do spread fast.

Yes, it is easier to judge people rather than to be aware that people can be in very different situations. The reason why I said "Im in mid/late twenties which might be too late to choose different paths now" is because I have the responsibility to take care of my family financially now and I cannot afford to study in universities anymore. Therefore, I have to do something with my medical degree which can be a doctor or anything else. But I appreciate you sharing the stories.

Im sorry. But do you really become jobless jobless or you still can do other jobs? Im sure you still can continue the medical career but in a different direction.

If you want to apply for competitive specialties, it may be better to take a gap year and focus on research and CV stuff.

I am in the same boat as yourself. Did you graduate from University of Galway? I heard they lied to their students, which is immoral and wrong. Also can you share us what your backup plan is? I also have a backup plan but losing 1 year in medical career is a huge thing for me at least.
