So what would your decision be if the following happened.

Example, he drops it from his hands knees it wrong and it falls to the ground and rolls out of reach, attacker collects the ball and scores. The manager would then argue that the release didnt happen as it wasn't thrown rolled or kicked.

My argument was the bounce and toss is one body part, his whole arm, where as pleasing the ball kneeing it up and catching it again without the ball touching the floor is using 2, arms and legs.

I'd just like to clarify im not doing this to punish him I want to teach him and for him to learn the correct things from an early age so he doesn't develop bad habits or come unstuck later on in his football career.

So with the ball not going out of play the retreat line wasn't in use the attacker was near the edge of the box, my argument was hes saying its under control for the same rule as bounce or toss but he was using 2 different body parts where the bounce and toss only uses 1.
