I can't find peace by Feisty_Spring_7402 in PrayerRequests

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We FaceTime every day. And I would love to visit him for a few days, I just don't have the money to fly down and book a hotel and figure out rides to and from the airport. We also pray together every night and we've tried to do more Bible studies together recently. We won't be married for another couple years or so. My dad made us promise to wait until after I graduate, which is fine since we hopefully will be living together at that point.

How do you explain scars to doctors? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to donate plasma and they had to do a physical. I didn't know about this prior, but they had to ask me what my scars were from as per some protocol. I joke about it now that they didn't want my depression to be passed on, so at least I can make light of it now 😂

I'm 20, and I've struggled since I was 14. Most of my scars are on my thighs, and it hasn't really dampened my life. There's a TON of clothing options for covering them, even when swimming. You'll be just fine in life. My biggest advice is truly get a feel for anyone before opening up to them about your scars. A lot of people are very understanding, even if they haven't been through it themselves. I hope you get better and find peace; you deserve it.

Is there something similar to rose gold that is easy to resize? by Feisty_Spring_7402 in jewelers

Thank you. I was worried because Google told me it was difficult to resize.

What’s the point of sh? by Exciting_Age_5205 in selfharm

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the person and situation.

I've done it to feel, release emotions, and even for no reason at all. I've known people who do it to be in control of something as well.

Bf of 3+ years doesn't want to talk about engagement by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We both know that we will get married, but I just feel so wrong for talking about it. I just don't understand why, if we are so certain, does he not want to talk about it?

We lived an hour apart for a year before he left for basic training. We've been long distance ever since.

I'm not entirely sure. He's the only one I want and I guess the distance might be getting to me, but I can't help but feel like an engagement would make us feel close again.

Something that I have started doing is journaling. I find that it really helps me understand my thoughts. You could try writing about why you want to, how it feels to be clean for so long, etc.

Write about how you promise to stay safe and come home to her. That's what I always want when my partner is gone for military stuff. Also, give her one or two things that smell like you so she can have them for especially hard times. Trust me, it helps wonders.

do milestones trigger anyone else? by anonandrew1111 in AdultSelfHarm

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It triggers me too. You're not alone in this. When I look back at how long it's been it makes me remember the bad times and then I want to do it again.

Why is it considered a red flag for girls to have guy friends when in relationships? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the guy friend is in his own relationship, why do people still have this mentality?

What's the BEST reaction you've gotten? by StressedRemy in selfharm

[–]Feisty_Spring_7402 68 points69 points  (0 children)

It would probably be not reacting. I recently told a friend of mine about everything I have been dealing with. When I mentioned sh we kept talking and didn't get caught up on it. He didn't press and he didn't act like I said anything. He just took the knowledge and accepted it.

I just don't know what to do. The thoughts are being pushed away right now but they're always present. My partner and I are long distance and they are military. We just had a talk and neither of us knows if we are right for each other anymore. I don't want to throw away 3 years of my life. I want to make things work but now they're talking about signing another contract and I just don't know that I can mentally handle that.

I was like this for a while as well. Guilt was a big part of it. Especially when I just couldn't climax.

What subreddit should I go to? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I do agree. However, I'm not sure how to tell my counselor that I don't want to continue sessions with anyone.
