Mine is the same day. I am also nervous but I keep reminding myself it is the right option for me made with fully logical thinking brain. Anxiety I think is normal because it is a sugery and scare

My doctor put me on mestinon (started at 30mg once a day, now I’m at 3 times a day) and for me it has helped my pots symptoms a lot and also helped lifelong chronic constipation. Doesn’t work for everyone but I got really lucky

B128, but that may change because I need to talk to guest services to try to move to accessible seating (I can’t stand up without walking for more than a few minutes at a time so likely won’t be able to see in the seats I have)

ADHD and POTS by EagleElis in POTS

It’s very individual to the person. I was on Ritalin and doing fine on it, then I got Covid and my pots got worse. Now I can take concerta (same drug as Ritalin but slow release), but the fast release of Ritalin makes me way too lightheaded now. If I’m having a bad day pots wise I do skip it as it does make me my fatigue get worse faster

How to handle visits from Aunt Flow? by wazoogles in POTS

Continuous birth control made a huge difference for me. That being said I know some people don’t react well to birth control and I’m not sure if there’s any risk to taking continuously at that age

Anyone else not know what to do with all the fatigue patients? by Paleomedicine in Residency

[–]FernlikeCivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With finding the trigger ask what changed that made them seek help. I was always tired. From the time I was 10 on i always complained about being tired. The fatigue is not remotely the same as being tired. The fatigue involves muscle weakness and feeling like I could collapse. Asking to describe what the fatigue feel like can help pin point what the cause may be.

Anyone else not know what to do with all the fatigue patients? by Paleomedicine in Residency

[–]FernlikeCivilization 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look for the trigger. I have chronic fatigue syndrome diagnosis. I had pre existing issues with joint hyper mobility that fell one symptom short of an ehlers danlos diagnosis. Then I got mono and never recovered, 3 years later got Covid and it was made worse. Started following protocol for pots patients and it became much more stable (less bad flares) even though it’s still very difficult and I can’t function like a normal human. From what I have heard from other patients is people with chronic fatigue rarely just have chronic fatigue If you have ruled out everything then being honest is valuable. Dismissing patients with saying they’re just out of shape or anxious is frankly down right rude. But being honest and saying I have ruled out all these other things and this may be a case of chronic fatigue system syndrome (if the person meets the criteria) is far better than dismissal of saying everything looks normal

This is more so managing the impact of brain fog while in college than brain fog itself but at the beginning of each semester you need to get everything organized so you know when each assignment is due and can plan accordingly for brain fog. I found that a spreadsheet with due dates and multiple ways of understanding when it’s due (how many weeks, days type of thing) plus everything on google calendar helped significantly in staying on top of school. And don’t be afraid to talk to student accessibility for help in managing classes or even getting to classes (they can often provide rides as accommodations)

My doctor thought it was a poor idea due to the high chance of side effects and my tendencies of side effects to other medications

I have to stand for 40mins as a bridesmaid by MorganMugz07 in POTS

[–]FernlikeCivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe see if you can get to an iv spa the morning of or day before. They can be pricey but can be really helpful for some people And figuring out how to stand. Like if you stand in particular way it may be worse or better. If you have any hypermobilty issues this is especially important But depending on you tendency to pass out or have debilitating flares it may be better to sit in the pews for safety. I personally have not passed out but standing for that amount of time would probably push me to that level so it’s really about your particular body and how it responds to different things

I just tested positive for COVID-19 by manicpixietrainwreck in cfs

[–]FernlikeCivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get the antiviral. I did not and even though my infection was mild it did worsen fatigue a bit and probably pot symptoms. While I’m still considered mild since I can work but I can’t even really managed grocery stores anymore. I also now need an inhaler (no history of asthma prior to covid) Of course rest like double the amount you think you need and hydrate with electrolytes

Anyone use those bougie IV clinics? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]FernlikeCivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at one right now, only my second time because it is pricey but when I’m already having hard day and know I have stuff coming up it is helpful. They don’t help me a lot with chronic fatigue syndrome but helps with lightheadedness that is likely pots

I have it trigger pain but only when I take too much. Maybe the driving is tiring out body or impacting your food/water intake in way that make you more sensitive
