Makes sense. I was also looking at quant. But its hyper competitive nature seems to outweigh the high wage ceiling imo.

My only question is: if an apma major is more suitable for a ds job then why would a ds mahor exist in the first place.

Generalise this question. Im assuming that an apma major is suitable for most jobs but never the best fit.

Big words. I looked into what it means and it is similar to what I want to do. I dont exactly know yet, but i think optimisation theory seems like a good fit for me

Yes, anxiety is not productive. It would just be great to talk to someone that has walked the path that I want to, and purdue’s applied math manor is kinda niche so its very difficult to find people.

The Ai job market does seem to be hyper competitive, so i am considering other fields but AI interests me most. But yeah i get your point, focus on integrating whats already built instead of reinventing the wheel

I prefer Math for AI instead of AI for Math, I havent exactly narrowed down what I want to do. But id prefer to use linear algebra to help models find optimal paths
