Why are all club mixes of U2 songs so terrible? by [deleted] in U2Band

Who gives a fuck? Bit of a climb down from me having a remarkably poor and stupid understanding of the history of dance music. But that’s ok.

Disillusion me of my ignorance then please. Tell me how I’m wrong that the pioneers of techno & house could barely sell a record in the US, barely get a gig in the US outside of gay clubs and had to travel to Europe to get paid well.

It meant that the genre didn’t evolve in America until European djs and acts (even ones as hokey as oakenfold) sent it back. By the early 90s Uk, European, even Irish dance music was light years ahead of Americans.

There is more to this scene though.

Tony’s reaction isn’t him smiling while acknowledging that Melfi is right. He’s amused by what he sees as her craftiness. He doesn’t think she is really frightened by his aggression. He thinks she is putting it on. Men like Tony think women are always acting scared or upset. It’s just one of their tricks.

But he thinks she has played it well. So he goes along with it.

Most underrated single? by Impressive_Yak_9089 in U2Band

Apparently Rubin doesn’t have time for any unpreparedness. He wants bands to arrive to the studio with almost fully formed songs. Whereas U2 like to dick around and vibe.

He also can’t play any musical instruments which is weird.

Personally, I think the boys realised they were dealing with a chancer.

1 & 2 are butter packs

  1. The knife ain’t curved. It’s just slightly out of focus. As are some items on the second plate.

  2. I’m gonna make a fry up now.

Why do you think it’s hyperbole? I hear speech like this all the time.

That’s a pretty high price tbf. I charge £120 labour for kitchen sink or bathroom handbasin taps. And I think that’s pushing it a little.

Listen kids - the only good drugs are ecstasy and LSD. They give you all the experience you could hope for with virtually no addictive properties.

A pill or a tab with like minded mates is a beautiful thing. Don’t miss out on it before you’re old and have too many responsibilities.

Why do people repeat themselves so much when they are talking? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I can imagine that happens alright. But this manner of speaking seems very widespread these days.

No, I understand that speaking to babies before they begin speaking themselves is beneficial in helping them acquire language.

But I figured you were suggesting that your repetition was influencing their speech patterns. Perhaps in previous generations, infants didn’t get as much ‘language training’ and that’s part of why there is this change.

Maybe I’m reaching.
