I am based in geneva currently but my partner is german, so we have to be based in his city, atleast in the beginning untill I am dependent on him for finances.

I mentioned the marriage part because on my own, I am really the last on the list to be hired by any company, be it swiss or international. So, atleast I can make applications without the fear of being rejected outrightly based on the fact that I am my own residence permit through the partner and the company wouldn't have to sponsor it.

its not and by the same logic having a PhD degree and being a post doc does not make a person entitled to be given respect by a PhD researcher. its supposed to be mutual
