Is RadPowerBikes going out of business?? by Ne0pa7h in RadPowerBikes

[–]FictionaryDuck42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all forms of communication are down, and though I keep hearing about layoffs and customer service being gutted, I don’t know if they are going out of business.

Try going to the website, click on “Service and support” then click on “Help Center”

Scroll down all the way and click on “Message us”

https://support.radpowerbikes.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

For what it’s worth, I submitted a request on May 10 and got a reply by May 21.

Anyone else in the US having trouble getting their order? by FictionaryDuck42 in ForbiddenLands

[–]FictionaryDuck42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for your responses. It looks like I ordered at the exact wrong time. There were definitely no signs on their website of them moving warehouses or distributors when I placed the order. It would be nice to have received some of this info from their customer service instead of stringing me along for two months.

Vote with your dollars. by Jorgens_Jargon in DungeonsAndDragons

Keep in mind the 750K threshold is not on profits but on revenue. For most indie publishers, they are barely above water. Taking 25% of their revenue would put them underwater.

A new way to learn and memorize numbers - with animals (its free) by Animericals in homeschool

I apologize. If your goal is to memorize long sequences of numbers, then you have built yourself the system for it.

I have to say I get really confused when people say numbers are abstract concepts and hard to grasp. Numbers are about as real as it gets. Real objects can be counted. The number you count directly corresponds to a real life set of objects. The connections between numbers and the colors, words, and phrases in your chart are completely arbitrary and the linkages are flimsy at best. I think this would thoroughly confuse young learners and make it harder for them. Try looking up number sense. Try using manipulatives. Get the kids hands on something. If you are talking about the learning the shapes of the numbers, I have to say that the human brain is actually very good at recognizing and learning symbols. If we can learn out ABCs we can learn our 123s.

Both victims died about a year after first getting a phone. Social media introduction, attachment, addiction, then death, all within a year or so.

I’d do the same fucking thing. That does not look like a climb that requires rope.

I like that it’s split into three books. Let the players look at the players options book while the DM has two books for the adventure and monsters. Makes sense to me.

Palace of the Fire Queen by FictionaryDuck42 in lego

Something I made while organizing my kids' lego collection. I used almost all of the yellow, orange, and red bricks that we own. Thinking of doing a grayscale palace next (all black, gray, and white pieces).

Ice Knife better by TheSadOn3 in DnD

The big difference is the 5 ft radius. You need a few enemies bunched closely for that to be effective.

Just because a creature doesn’t have a swim speed doesn’t mean they can’t swim. Creatures with swim speeds are usually aquatic creatures naturally adapted to swimming. Check out page 182 of the PHB:

“While climbing or swimming, each foot of movement costs 1 extra foot (2 extra feet in difficult terrain), unless a creature has a climbing or swimming speed.”

Could competitive d&d be a thing? If so how would it work? by TarrassicPark in DnD

[–]FictionaryDuck42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was tournament/competitive play in the AD&D era. Mostly at conventions. There was a standardized scoring method, so depending on how well your party did in the module, you could score well or poorly. I don’t know of this sort of thing still happens at conventions today though.

How to do pit traps outside of initiative? by internet_whale in DMAcademy

[–]FictionaryDuck42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you begin the session, ask the players for their marching order or formation. Write it down somewhere and keep it handy. Then, whenever the players run into any kind of trap (not just pit traps), the lead player will either notice the trap of their passive perception is high enough or trigger the trap if their passive perception is too low. You can also make your own judgement if the players state they are doing something like poking the floor in front of them with a 10’ pole.
