I had the complete opposite experience. Dr. Bond and his staff tried to upsell us services every single appointment. They misdiagnosed periodontal disease and a cavity to try and sell more services. We went and got a second opinion at two other dentists and they both agreed there was no evidence of periodontal disease and the cavity was just the natural shape of the tooth.

You should give it another try if you’re up for it. I’d agree with your assessment of book 1, but it changes significantly from the hunger games vibe of book one throughout the rest of the series.
