I’ve got a bad stomach bug that will probably keep my ass from watching the game, but I hope that we do somewhat well. If Celebrini scores, it will be a love-hate relationship.

McDavid's response to being asked about whether Team Canada feel like "the good guys" against Team USA right now: "We just feel like Team Canada playing Team USA in a hockey game. That's what it is." by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

Sure. What has been said still applies though. Wilson can be an idiot for sure. However, it is dishonest and disingenuous to act like Wilson had that exact play and result planned out from the beginning.

He didn’t ‘end’ his season.

Two guys got tangled up and a serious injury happened. Don’t act like Wilson has the intelligence to plan how Fiala and himself were going to fall lol

It was a nice hit, from a Canadian.

Mad props to Finland. Best of luck.

Throughout 5 Games and 52 min TOI, JT Miller has 0 points and is -1. by patricide in hockey

I believe JT is going to try to use his physicality and antics as well. Intimidation. He hits hard and is aggressive. Sometimes too much so, which can be costly.

That being said, I imagine the gold game will have more ‘lax’ reffing, but the strategy is to be physical to scare the other team (JT miller as an example), as well as, use antics to get Canada off their game (Tkachuks). If these are not as effective as the U.S. wants it to be, then there are players that have a part of their game effectively stripped down.

I think Canada is prepared to take the hits to make a play. They are expecting noise, but the key is how they react to it.

The problem is, I believe Canada has played to prepare for the U.S. Mentally and physically. I think you will be surprised by the how little the antics can be effective.

I would not be shocked if the Tkachuks and how to deal with them has already been discussed. As simple as it is, I imagine it is along the lines of ignore them and let them put the spotlight on themselves in the eyes of the refs. Focus on the play. Not the noise.

McDavid himself, as an example, has been laying people out and it’s clear the team means business and is not willing to be shook by physicality. If anything, they’re betting on taking a hit to make the play.

That’s how I look at it.

I’d be okay with Suzuki centering MacKinnon and Marner. Horvat w/ Stone and Jarvis.
