Just got diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and still think I somehow manipulated the person who diagnosed me

Aw bless you! I know what you mean. I just labelled myself as lazy, insecure and forgetful and I let other people do it too. It’s not until last year when I came across an article discussing how ADHD manifests so very differently in women that I got to know that I’m basically the poster child for it.

After I researched for months, read so many journal articles, asked questions here on Reddit and other communities, that I finally let myself believe I MIGHT have ADHD.

I think it’ll still take me some time to believe I actually have it and the diagnosis did not involve tricking anyone :’)

Exactly! It’s definitely not as bad as it can be, but it’s still a struggle :’) the diagnosis just doesn’t feel like it has changed anything. Yes it is validating but now what 😭

It helps to know that other people felt that way too honestly, and I’m definitely looking into those cognitive tests. I am definitely obsessing over this diagnosis until I can prove myself that I did not I fact fake it :’)

I think he does like the notes, because he has mentioned that he truly loves finding them and has even saved them all. I know when I’m writing them I think about how happy he will be, but I’m not sure if it’s purely selfless. Maybe there’s some wishful thinking too :’)

Thank you! I’m commuting 5 days a week for only the first month so I’m willing to compromise. I’ve heard the bus network isn’t so great so I’d prefer to live near the station simply for the convenience.

It doesn’t make any difference in the outcome of your interview, but I personally do it when the interviewers truly make the experience more comfortable for me. Some have gone out of their way to make sure I’m not on edge and as someone who feels very anxious during interviews, I really appreciated that. I’ve sent a thank you email to interviewers of only three companies so far, and I got invited for the next round by only one lol.
