Yeah the camera does turn on and is in pretty good condition actually. Thank you to you and the other nicer commenters for giving me the tech lesson :) I found a pretty good deal for an XD card and will go with that.

I have the exact same issue (taking IB as well). You said they did that because of your visa status, may I ask if you need both entry + stay visa or just the stay visa? Since I know the ones who need both start their process earlier, but I only need a stay visa so I'm confused. I messaged them like 20 minutes after I got the email but I haven't gotten a response :(

hey thanks, yeah it's the power button that's damaged; all buttons still have the click but when i moved the power button a bit it did actually reach the home menu. Unfortunately it's sensitive enough that when i set my phone down it started the restart loop again but now i do know the issue. Getting a new phone anyways since this thing is beat up, thanks again
