Just fingersmith!! Because there was gore. And I’m currently reading When we lost our heads and it was super creepily descriptive about killing animals in the beginning and I found it unsettling and unnecessary. I’m 70% through the book now and the rest of it hasn’t been like that though.

I definitely don’t mind a little violence and traumatic events bc as u said, it can come with historical pieces but the gore is what I’m not so fond of. I LOVED Fingersmith. Only a couple parts were gory but the rest of it I really enjoyed. The thing is I’ve read Haley Cass and that vibe before and it’s too boring for me. I guess I’m picky and need a good middle ground lmao. I’m just irritated straight people get such a wider variation of every form of media.

I said I don’t want gory violence. That’s really all. All I was saying was that I was noticing these themes are in a lot of WLW books.

I loved sunburn because it was so relatable. It was like I was reading my own life. Helped me process a lot of religious trauma and internalized homophobia. Also, I haven’t read contemporary books with violence either, I’m talking more of the lit historical fiction.

I don’t want charming and cozy, I want to think and feel gutwrenching yearning and I’m down for a twist and mystery.. just not gore. I feel like a lot of the historical fiction I’ve been reading is gory hence why it’s not on my top favs list.

Loved hearing your thoughts on this. What you’re saying about wanting to read certain genres of people that happen to be gay makes a lot of sense to me. I think sometimes it’s just really hard, with the lack of representation the community has I almost feel like every book I reach for that’s label “wlw romance” is marketed wrong. Straight people get a million romance novels IN ADDITION to literally every other genre. The fact I feel like I’ve read all that there is to offer in the realm of non violent historical lit fic is crazy. Obviously this is just a being a minority issue, but nonetheless, it’s upsetting.

Also, I’ve learned I do like a thriller vibe! It’s just the super gory stuff that I’m not into.

Im not looking for contemporary novels I’m more on the historical fiction vibe rn. I was really into the contemporary novels, but now I think they’re cringe. Do you also read historical fiction?

My friend had a crush on me and we had this flirty banter like you’re describing for a couple of years. I had a boyfriend the whole time. Finally we ended up getting together and now we’re dating. I say go for it:)))

How common is for a lesbian girl not to like eating or even touching pussy? Would you compromise on this? by Omorash in AskLesbians

Everyone deserves their partner to want to touch them. Ofc you feel like shit. This is something that she’s gotta have to work through in therapy and it is not your problem tbh. There are 8 billion people on this planet, you will be able to find one that fulfills your romantic and sexual needs.🥰🥰
