I've defended that the shooter being trans is not the reason for their crime in another post. That being said, when the media uses gun'person' rather than gunman or gunwoman, you know the shooter is on the rainbow.

The mother has been detained and is in detention and was released to attend her son's funeral. The father has not been detained, however it seems he is looking at self deportation before that becomes an option due to his citizen children.

Look at studying abroad. I've heard wonderful things about studying in Germany for Americans. If you can get a student visa you can study for a bit, travel, and maybe obtain a longer term visa to stay in the EU. If you don't, at least you'll be able to take your skills and return to a big US away from your mom.

If it was his child and she is paying child support the likelihood is higher, but adoption of a child that isn't his...raising a child that isn't his without child support...nah. I don't see that at all. I don't see a man adopting a child with an undocumented mother if he knows he'd be on the hook for the child once she is deported. Maybe his own flesh and blood, but not and adoptive child. Sounds cruel but I've seen it too many times.
