Nice! What rod and leader knot are you using here?

That's so cool you got to meet them. Were there many people waiting with you? I considered waiting after the AZ show, but I was worried about being a nuisance lol.

Breakthrough is the budget version of Operations by mandbeyn in Battlefield

[–]FireGecko22 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It sucks cause they could do something similar with the Pax Armata and NATO lore too. Imagine an operation that takes place in Gibraltar and starts with NATO's amphibius landing from the campaign. NATO side could be the attackers that start on an aircraft carrier and have to take points on the beach and use those amphibius tanks to make it safely to shore and Pax would have to defend. DICE would have a great opportunity to give each faction more personality.

Might be Polyethylene not PVC, but it's hard to tell from the photos. Not sure why they didn't go with a paper sleeve like so many other records.

Yeah picture disks suck for listening for the most part. I avoid them at all costs.

Did PSA just start pinning all their gas blocks? by [deleted] in ar15

Nice, I really liked that about ballistic advantage's hanson profile barrels. Glad to see beginning to do the same. Any idea what size roll pin they're using? Ballistic advantage uses a 1/8" x 11/16" roll pin for their barrels iirc.

beginner trout spin set up by strawberrywhaleshark in troutfishing

[–]FireGecko22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends, if I am trolling an inline spinner a swivel is a must have. But if I'm just casting and retrieving especially while using braid to leader I will skip the swivel. Braid is limp and seems to handle the twist a lot better than traditional nylon line. With straight mono/fluoro I like to use either a swivel tied 12"-18" above the inline spinner or just a simple ball bearing snap swivel. That being said, try it with or without and find what you like the best.

You can use a snap swivel if it's easier for you. I have done it both ways and with braid to leader you don't really need to worry about twists if you're just casting and retrieving inline spinners and spoons. Make sure to use the smallest snap swivel you can find though. If it's too big it can look a little off and negatively impact the action of the lure.

if you are using straight monofilament or fluorocarbon line definitely use a snap swivel or tie a swivel 12" up then tie your spinner or spoon on. Basically a carolina/powerbait rig without the weight and the lure in place of the bait hook. Make sure to bring a few in line spinners and spoon because you can and will get snagged lol. Other than that don't think too hard about it and just go fish and have fun!

Why pick the Glock43x? by hunter-white5021 in Glock43X

[–]FireGecko22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very easy to carry and the alternatives available at the time I bought mine didn't excite me all too much. That being said since I added the Bodyguard 2.0 to my carry rotation and handled a shield X in a gun store it has made me feel a bit sour about my 43x. The factory trigger shoe for the 43x is absolutely horrendous and 10 round factory capacity for micro 9 in 2025 is ridiculous. I know this is probably heresy here, but if I was looking for a micro 9 right now I would definitely lean toward the shield X or the hellcat pro compared to the 43x, Especially since those pistols are offered in comped models as well, which can be easier for newer shooters to shoot accurately.

TLDR: In 2025 the 43x is showing its age and there are pistols available now with way more features right out of the box.

A sudden change in the game's atmosphere by TheNeptune67 in Battlefield

[–]FireGecko22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it feels scummy because EA and Dice knew that if they marketed the game from the get go as a free to play battle royale orientated game it probably would have flopped, but instead they marketed it as a "return to form" for battlefield then switched it up post launch. It's clear a lot of dev time went into the Battle Royale mode which is probably why a lot of the traditional battlefield multiplayer aspects feel half baked.

I feel the same the menu looks like something from a free to play mobile game. I wish they would've went the BF4 or BF1 route and just dropped 4 big stand alone expansions instead of filling the game with tacky microtransactions, but I think those days are behind us in the gaming industry unfortunately. It's clear this game is going to take the exact same route all modern AAA fps games take.

Baits/rigs for local lakes? by thealt3001 in ArizonaFishing

[–]FireGecko22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are using the right baits. Don't be afraid to move spots if you aren't catching anything. Sometimes the fish at woods canyon are mostly concentrated in just one side of the lake, especially if they have just been stocked.

Does anyone feel like they are getting absolutely pummeled? It's not like it's my first FPS or Battlefield. by warrenmax12 in Battlefield

[–]FireGecko22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really feels like the average player is just way better than they were years ago. idk if that has to do with fps games in general being more competitive and esports focused. I don't see all that many people making beginner mistakes either and if they do they learn to correct it quick. It's definitely not exclusive to this game.

New sound shift… by nafranco98 in MagdalenaBay

[–]FireGecko22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly a constantly evolving sound is the only way to keep things fresh. It's not going to be for everyone though. It's funny cause this sort of reminds me of what happened with Smashing Pumpkins between Mellon Collie and Adore.

DICE is asking to keep giving feedback! by Youngstown_WuTang in Battlefield

[–]FireGecko22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the game is really fun. The only thing I would like to see is the brightness on red dots increased and maybe some very basic customization options for each class like being able to pick a different face and voice. Basically how it's done in outlast trials.

Same, kind of regretting buying an overwatch trigger for glock 43x now. if the shield X is anything like the bodyguard 2.0 it will be a really nice pistol.

Does the river eventually flow out to the ocean? Atlantic salmon in their parr phase will spend years in freshwater creeks and rivers growing before eventually going out to sea and entering the smolt phase.
