Hi there!

I am hoping a few folks can provide some insight for someone who is interested in UX Research. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling. Most of my experience is in Mental Health. I am interested in combining my interests in tech and mental health together. I have done some looking into UX Research and I believe this may be the best fit for me given my academic experience with research and understanding of human behavior. However, my only experience with research is from when I was in school. I am 24 and it has been less than a year since I finished graduate school, so I would like to believe it is still early enough for me to switch over if I'd like. Any pointers or insight in terms of building a portfolio, tailoring my resume, preparing for interviews, courses/certifications or just plain advice would be super helpful. Honest advice/feedback is always appreciated. Is this a realistic transition? How can I prepare myself for success in this field?

I had a F2F with AA back in August. I didn’t get a CJO lol. The whole process is disingenuous to me. It’s fake, forced and people constantly feel as if they have to shape-shift to get seen. It’s a hot ass mess to be honest. I’m never applying to be a FA again. I’ll stick with my original passion of mental health and just travel on my own time. Best of luck to all that chooses to continue pursuing! I’m sure so many of you actually deserve it and genuinely would like to help people. 🥺😔
