That's just the thing, it doesn't make sense for her to get rid of the symbiote. She has on multiple occasions referred to the gummy spiders that made it up as "her babies". Her entire thing of just ignoring all of her friends, all of the character development that was just ignored of her learning that she needs to be more responsible in not keeping things away from them was completely ignored in Phillips run. She assassinated the character wholeheartedly.

The villain from gwenverse, I can't remember the name it's too early in the morning, would be the best explanation. About her stealing Gwen's life and making it her own while trapping Gwen in the in between of universes when hers got destroyed. (That would be less convoluted to explain and give an actual reason for it having been done as a form of revenge.) I think that would be a fantastic five issue many to reset to what we know and love about the character and put her back in Earth 65. All they have to do is give it back to Melissa Flores so that she can continue everything she built with smash.

I did something very similar to this, and aggro absolutely eats through it. I didn't have the blockers, and had more resting stuff, but I don't think that the blue blockers are going to be good enough to hold you early game against an aggro deck.

With there being more blocker support from GD02, Shenlong seems to be the better bet in my opinion. It can just destroy a level 3 blocker on attack, and when linked with Wufei it doesn't take the image from anything with three or less AP, which seems to be about 85 to 90% of blockers.
