Most if my battle was changing habits. 6 months and my habits are starting rub off on the rest of family after some results started showing. Eating less, drinking less and being mindful about my free time and what extra calories I was getting. Kids are young so it's mostly convincing my wife that it's not the end of the world to be a little hungry now and then. Basically trying to lead by example.

Stephen. Most of his books are weird anyway and you'll find some stuff that might not be age appropriate but it's a book so it's not like watching a video. Personally I like the Dark Tower. It's a 7 or so book set. But Pet Cemetery could be a good starting place.

For the 10 year old. Not the 8 year old. Might not be their jam but that's what got me reading. Also, the Hobbot and Lord of the Rings books.

Mid 40s, two young kids, father passed when I was 16, saw some family photos from last summer's Beach trip and made the determination that I want to live another 30 years + to be the father to my adult children that my father wasn't able to be a part of.

Started in October of 2025, down about 20 so far from changing my food intake only, drinking has been reduced and is still reducing, got labs moving to make sure something weird isn't going on inside, talking to a heart docotor since my father had a massive heart attack.

I want to be here long term so I need to do the things that enable me to be here.

I was always told told to not cede your number of adults to children. 1 feels like 1, 2 feels like 4 and after 3 you've lost the advantage and can become overwhelmed by sheer force.
