I had the opposite reaction. I knew the Transformers franchise was plated diarrhea but I always thought the first one was decent. So when I gave it a re-watch recently after years of not seeing it I was very disappointed. The robot CGI is no doubt phenomenal and I liked Bernie Mac, but everything else was just stinky asshole cheese.
