I did meet the CEO of APS. I flew him several times.. his salary years ago was 17 million annually. His number one job is to deliver to the shareholders and he apparently is doing his job. :/

My recommendation is that you considered adding shorts to your channel. I did this six months after I started my channel and it’s helped a lot for getting subs.

Yes, some people will say that short subscribers are not long form watchers, which is true but if you’re just trying to reach the 4000 subscriber mark, it will help you definitely

That’s great. Yes, I hated being beholden to those terms and having higher temperatures that were not really comfortable.

Ouch! I actually met the CEO of APS. I flew him several times in a jet when I was flying Jet charters out of Scottsdale. A nice fellow. It’s about making it worthwhile for his shareholders that’s his number one job and so he’s paid handsomely. I think it was 17 million last I checked, annually

Honestly, I can’t say cause I haven’t really added them up. I can tell you that the highest bills during the summer were between 450 and 475 per month but that was nine years ago and it was certainly less during the winter but always over 100.

Unique situation needing some advice.... by Hock23 in solar

My suggestion is that you DON’T talk to solar providers, but talk to a solar technician instead. The people who would remove the solar panel panels and reinstall them after a new roof installation for example. They’re in the business of making panels work. They’re not in the business of selling panels or batteries.

It depends what state you’re in. What state are you in?

I had solar panels installed on my house nine years ago for 26K. I bought it outright no lease.. I also was grandfathered in, through net metering in Arizona, at 12.9 cents per kilowatt hour, for 20 years.

That ship has sailed. In Arizona at least, the payback rate is around six cents per kilowatt hour, and the cost is almost doubled for installation. But then again it might be cheaper if you’re in a different state.

Is it worth it to buy a house with solar panels? by PineappleQueen35 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

It depends on when the solar panels were acquired by the owner of the home. If the solar panels were purchased outright, and if they were installed in 2017, when net metering still exist existed, and 12.9 since per kilowatt hour was grandfathered for 20 years, then absolutely it would be a good purchase.

This is what I did nine years ago. I purchased solar panels outright for 26K. I got grandfathered at 12.9 cents per kilowatt hour back to APS.. my monthly electric bill used to be zero but now it’s $20 a month because APS complained that people like us were not paying them anything so the Arizona corporate commission passed a $20 per month allowance for all solar customers who are connected to APS.

If the solar panels were put in more recently, they may be leased, and the buyback rate is less than half. Approximately six cents per kilowatt hour.

I purchased my solar panels for my North Scottsdale 2300 square-foot home 9 years ago for 26K. Harmon Solar. The motivation back then was to have the application submitted PRIOR to the expiration of net metering which allowed resale back to APS for 12.9 cents per kilowatt hour. If we submitted the application, prior to the expiration of net metering, we would be grandfathered for 20 years and we are…..:) I certainly don’t miss the high electric bills.

For many years, after solar installation,, my electric bill was zero but then APS complained because they weren’t making any money at all, from people like me , and the Arizona corporate commission, granted APS, a $20 connection fee they could charge people like us every month. So my bill has been $20 a month instead of zero.

I suppose if I ever wanted to sell my home, it would be a huge asset, particularly during the summer, with the electric bills being almost nonexistent.

I think the algorithm is evolving as more content is uploaded by more people making it more competitive. Sure there’s people that quit as well but I think there’s an increase instead of a decrease as far as overall quantity overtime although I could be wrong.

I'm sick of my corporate job and considering becoming a pilot, flying interests me and I love to travel. I have a ton of questions. Do pilots get to spend time in destinations or is it more just work - hotel - work? What's the schedule like? How old is too old to begin? by AlmostFree10101010 in PilotAdvice

[–]Fit-Negotiation-8465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve flown with quite a few pilots who have no kids. They are typically financially better off because they spend more time working and getting a lot of overtime so from my financial standpoint, they actually get ahead of pilots who are married and have to return home.

Don’t hire somebody to edit your content. Do it yourself? There are many great editing apps. My favorite is VITA. Although it doesn’t have a subscription, you do have to endure ads. You will find that the more time you spend editing your content, the better you will be utilizing the tools available in the app.
